RESEARCH THROUGH DIFFERENT LENS
Interdisciplinary Research
Transmedia and Digital Humanities
Transmedia storytelling refers to the technique of telling a single story or narrative through multiple platforms and media forms, such as books, films, video games, social media, and more. Meanwhile, digital humanities is an interdisciplinary field that uses computational tools and methodologies to study humanistic subjects, such as language, literature, history, and culture. Both transmedia and digital humanities have the potential to revolutionize foreign language learning, as they provide learners with new and innovative ways to engage with language and culture.
Sociopolitical
The social and sociopolitical lens explores the meaning of street art in the culture of Buenos Aires. It analyzes the influences of the social and political atmospheres in Buenos Aires on street art, and vice versa. Investigate how laws affect the freedom of street art and how street art has become a tool for protest and advocacy. I chose this perspective because it links my academic backgrounds in social work and Hispanic studies. Furthermore, it fits my interests in macro social work, looking at how policies affect populations in society and the process for changing these policies.
Literature and
Cultural Studies
The student’s experience when studying abroad influenced the literature and cultural studies lens. After taking culture classes and a 20th-century literature class during her previous study abroad, she felt connected to this topic. She was inspired to share her passions because she wants others to learn about literature and cultural studies across other cultures, in addition to having the opportunity to discover a new perspective on life and feel what the writer is transferring to the reader through their work. During her time in Argentina, the popular culture class and excursions broadened her knowledge of famous writers and provided her with the possibility to study them in greater depth.
