This article gives the details of abusive relationships between men and male sex workers. Like many other articles on masculinity have pointed out, there are reasons why males act out in the way that they do. The article starts out with pointing out that we live in a patriarchal society. Because we do being male means having more status and power and protecting that is of the utmost importance. The theory of this article is that because males have to prove their maleness when they are having sexual encounters with each other they are more violent than different sex violent encounters. Males have to make sure they are more carful to protect themselves to make sure that they don’t fall victim in sex work to more violent behaviors.
