Hi everyone,
My name is Kristen Hunt. I live in Raleigh, NC but am originally from Fairmont, NC. I am currently in my last semester for the Masters of Public Health Program with a concentration in Community Health and Health Behavior. I obtained my under grad in Exercise Science at UNCW. I manage one of the opioid settlements for the state in 5 different counties and am excited to take my first Communications course related to public health topics and issues. I am looking forward to interacting with everyone and learning!

Thanks for your intro message and welcome to the course. The opioid epidemic has had a pronounced effect on our health care system and, as with COVID, has exposed weak links between the public/ population health and clinical care delivery arms of our health care system.
Looking forward to your perspective in the area of opioid abuse and chronic addiction on our health care delivery system and the types of initiatives we need to take to reverse the trajectory of this epidemic.
