Dolly Parton’s literacy program donates its 100 millionth book

Dolly Parton visited Washington, D.C. on Tuesday to celebrate a huge milestone for her literacy program, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

The singer dedicated Imagination Library’s 100 millionth book to the Library of Congress. She read her story “Coat of Many Colors” to a group of young children, breaking into song at the end.

This dedication and reading launched a new initiative between the Library of Congress and Imagination Library. A book reading will be live-streamed and shared to libraries across the country.
