Book of the Month!

If your child was born in 2016, they may have received “Maple” by Lori Nichols in the mail this month.

This story is about a nature-loving girl who welcomes the new seasons and her new sibling with open arms.

Maple’s parents planted a maple tree when she was tiny. She and the tree grow up together, but the tree is not always the perfect playmate. It is a good companion when Maple feels like being loud! Maple becomes a big sister and finds out that babies are loud too! She and her tree knows exactly what the baby needs.

Try some of these suggestions from the back of you Imagination Library book!

Starting Up: Look at the front cover and the back cover with your child. Ask your child to tell you what is the same and what is different in the pictures.

Reading the Story: Comment on the seasons as they pass in the story.

After the Story: Learn on the go by spending time under a tree together, watching the leaves dance. Make a nature collection of leaves, acorns, and twigs at the park.
