In August, Dr. Swaggerty presented to the Greenville Rotary Club about the Imagination Library Kindergarten Impact Study and efforts to improve literacy in Pitt County. The presentation emphasized reading to children every day, results and progress from the research project, enrolling children in Imagination Library from all areas of Pitt County, and how Rotary members can help by enrolling children and supporting early literacy work. The Rotarians in attendance had a positive response to the presentation and were interested in learning more about the research project and ongoing early literacy efforts in Pitt County, like Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
