  1. In Korea, we have three kinds of most famous sports are baseball, basketball and soccer. When Baseball and Basketball pro- league season open, many fans are going to stadium for cheering their team. In soccer case, not too much fans than baseball and basketball. But we loves soccer. That’s why we opened Korea-Japan World cup in 2002. Many people became a football enthusiast through the 2002 Korea-Japan world cup. And we can see that many students likes to play soccer in school. I hope that many fans would like to see soccer match again soon like in 2002 Korea-Japan world cup.

  2. I want to talk about Korean Alphabet. The Korean alphabet is called Hangeul in Korean. Hanguel was created by King Sejong 562 years ago. So every year, we celebrate Hangul Day on October 9. And Hangeul is the most scientific writing system in the world. Nowadays, More and more people in the world are learning Hangul and they say Hangul is very beautiful. My foreign friends also want to have a Korean name. So I sometime make Korean name for them.

  3. It is really interesting that Koreans celebrate their alphabet. What do you do when you celebrate on October 9?

  4. Very interesting that baseball and basketball have more fans than soccer, even though soccer is very loved in Korea. During school to students play on teams or do they just play within each other?

  5. Hi Youngjin,
Yes the Korean language is beautiful. I have my name Sonya in Korean in the form of a tattoo. I got it about 6 years ago when I received my blackbelt in TKD. I also have the Korean word for Perseverance as well.

  6. Very neat. A major sport in America I wish would travel over seas would be American football, it is kind of like rugby, but so much fun.

  7. The reason we celebrate our language is related to culture background. We used to use Chinese letter to write our word order before King Sejong created Hangul and it was hard to express exactly and Chinese letter was hard for normal citizens to learn also they didn’t have chance to learn so most of them didn’t know how to write. (Korea society back that time was hierarchical and aristocrat class people thought Chinese they are using make them superior than normal people )
In short, Hangul invention has meaning that it made normal citizens to learn writing easily and establish our cultural foundation.

We designated Hangul day as a public holiday so that we can remember and thank to King Sejong’s warm heart toward normal citizens and our country’s development.

  8. What kind of dancing occurs in Korea?
In america line dancing and shagging are two the highest most participated in.
