Mystic Seaport is located In Mystic, Connecticut and is the leading maritime museum in the United States. The museum “strives to inspire an enduring connection to the American maritime experience and significantly influence how new generations engage with our nation’s past, present, and future.” Covering over nineteen acres, the museum has a reproduction nineteenth century coastal village, a fully operational shipyard, exhibit buildings, modern artifacts storage facilities, and over five hundred historic watercraft with four National Historic Landmark vessels. Additionally, it provides world class education opportunities for all ages. Mystic Seaport Museum also has a very extensive research collection with a professional research center with over two million examples of art, tools, buildings, imprints, historic documents, photographs and much more.
