The Graveyard of the Atlantic museum is part of the North Carolina maritime museums. Alternatively known as the North Carolina Maritime Museum Hatteras, this museum offers visitors a look into the shipwreck history of a particular hazardous area to sailors traveling the North Carolina coastline. From the early colonial era to the Second World War, this museum covers the extensive history of the Graveyard of the Atlantic. Free to the public, the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum offers a rotating collection of artifacts and events ranging from lecture series to conferences.
The museum offers interactive exhibits outside and inside their unique building. Exhibits range from the engima machine capture from the German’s during World War II to a pie plate from Kassandra Louloudes. Family fun activities include maritime craft and sea shanty courses.
