The Museo Atlantico Lanzarote is a underwater museum, the first of it’s time. the artist, Jason Taylor created between 300 and 400 statues, each of which used real people to build molds around. The exhibit includes 6 separate large-scale installations. Each project is slightly different, so materials and processes vary. But, generally, most of the sculptures are made from a very inert type of marine cement.Taylor points out that he NEVER uses any metals—as is common in many public sculptures—because they are corrosive and pollute the environment.
