Trauma-Sensitive Literacy Practices 11/16/23

Dr. Rachelle Savitz facilitated a book talk titled “Trauma-sensitive Literacy Practices” on Thursday, November 16, 2023 4-6pm in the Janice Faulkner Gallery in Joyner Library (2nd floor).

Dr. Savitz is an Associate Professor of Reading and Literacy Education at ECU. This event focused on grades 6-12, but was open to all educators, including ECU teacher preparation faculty and students. Books were provided to attendees. Educators earned .1 CEU. This event was sponsored by the ECU Department of Literacy Studies, English Education, and History Education, the ECU Joyner Library Teaching Resource Center, the Margaret Blount Harvey Literacy Institute, and Teachers College Press. Thanks to the planning team: Lanette Moret, Erin Kessel, Darian Thrailkill, Amy Mansfield, Elizabeth Swaggerty.
