Who
Ms. Woodson will be tailoring her presentation for kids in the appropriate age group for each session. We encourage you to tune in as a class or as a group to enjoy the virtual visit.

What
Kids and young people will hear from Ms. Woodson about how she creates stories and her belief that books can “drive change and instill hope” in young people. She will discuss her new books The Day You Begin for the younger group and Harbor Me for the older group.

You will have an opportunity to send student questions for Ms. Woodson to First Book in advance and she will answer them live!

How
RSVP above to sign your class or program up to join us! The presentation is a live stream through the free Zoom online platform. You do not need a web camera for this presentation, but you may want a projector or larger screen so that the kids can all see Ms. Woodson.

About Jacqueline Woodson​​​​

Jacqueline Woodson is an acclaimed poet and author for audiences of all ages! Ms. Woodson won the National Book Award in 2014 for her memoir in verse, Brown Girl Dreaming, and has received four Newbery Honors, two Coretta Scott King Awards and the Margaret A. Edwards Award for lifetime achievement for her contributions to young adult literature. She currently serves as the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature.
