Research Project Summary:
An epidemiology study conducted through the National Cancer Institute. The project focused on running Monte Carlo simulations to calculate organ doses for radiotherapy treatment to test the dose agreement between X-Ray Voxel Monte Carlo (XVMC) codes and measured values. Ten cases were evaluated and a DICOM directory was made for each case in a treatment planning system (TPS), Eclipse, to extract the plan information. Once the files were imported to MATLAB, Monte Carlo simulations were performed and a dose profile was generated for each case.
