The Florida Public Archaeology Network and the Florida Bureau of Archaeological Research continue to partner to host the Heritage Awareness Diving Seminar (HADS) in Florida. Targeted to diving leadership, HADS provides diving Instructors with information to educate new divers about protection of underwater cultural heritage. Two HADS were held in 2016, in Largo and Singer Island; planning for the spring 2017 HADS is underway. FPAN also continues to offer the Submerged Sites Education & Archaeological Stewardship (SSEAS) course for divers wanting to learn more about underwater archaeology. In 2016, FPAN partnered with Biscayne National Park to offer SSEAS to local divers in order to train them to help monitor historic shipwrecks within the Park.
