HUAC vs. the “Greenville Benevolent Association”: Investigating the Klan in Eastern North Carolina, 1965-66

On October 15, I offered a virtual presentation on the House Un-American Activities Committee’s (HUAC) 1965-66 investigation of the Ku Klux Klan. This was the only investigation in HUAC’s history to touch upon Greenville, Pitt County, and eastern North Carolina, and involved a topic sadly made relevant by recent events.
