Dr. Jo Anne Balanay was selected for a pilot grant award from the NC Occupational Safety and Health and Education and Research Center (NC OSHERC) for her research project titled “Adsorption Characteristics of Activated Carbon Fibers in Respirator Cartridges for Volatile Organic Compounds”. The aim of her research is to investigate the adsorption characteristics of activated carbon fibers (ACF) in respirator cartridges with varying ACF composition and densities for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) with different adsorbate characteristics.
