Invasion of Mosquitoes into New Areas

Dr. Richards posts a Terminix blog this week on the geographic spread of mosquitoes and mosquito-borne pathogens.  She identified some examples of invasive mosquitoes that have affected the United States, such as Aedes aegypti, Aedes albopictus and Aedes japonicus, and a couple of new invasive species found in Florida in the the late 2016.  She mentioned that surveillance-based targeted mosquito control as part of an integrated mosquito management program may help limit the spread of invasive species.
