Dr. Richards posted a Terminix blog this week on residential issues with fleas.  She described a few flea-borne diseases (i.e., plague, murine typhus and tapeworm infections), characteristics of flea, and how they develop and feed.  Dr. Richards also explained how we can get rid of fleas in infested homes and yards (including removing all clutter from affected homes, vacuuming all carpeted and uncarpeted areas, consulting pest control professionals) and how to protect ourselves when doing the clean-up.
