Shakera Robbins (BSEH ’15) currently works as an Environmental Health Specialist in the Food, Lodging and Institutions section of Wake County Health Department in Raleigh, NC. She has been working for Wake County for 9 months now.  She enjoys the work that she does, and works with a good group of people. Working in Raleigh, in addition to inspecting restaurants, she gets the pleasure of working in fun events such as the State Fair, any festivals and events downtown where one get to see some of the many food trucks and pushcarts that they have.

“I started out working for Wake County as a Pool Tech during the summer and had no idea that it would lead to getting another position, but I’m glad that it worked out that way,” Shakera shared. “The training process is long and even 9 months in, I’m still training and working on getting my last 2 authorizations.  But the good thing is that there is always something to do. I look forward to where this career will take me in the future.”
