Kellyn Reese, a BS Public Health (minor in Environmental Health) student, was featured in the New Haven Register as a summer intern at the East Shore District Health Department in Connecticut. Kellyn’s job is to work on the Connecticut shoreline until the end of July through collecting water samples at public and private natural swimming areas in Branford, North Branford, and East Haven every week for bacterial analysis. The purpose of the water testing is to make sure that bacterial levels are low enough for public safety, which makes Kellyn’s work very important.
