Scorpions can be found in attics of homes in some regions of the United States, and may move into home interiors to cool off when summer temperatures become too hot, thus increasing the chance of human contact. Dr. Richards described reports on human-scorpion exposures in the United States, and the harm that can be inflicted by scorpions on humans and animals.
