Dr. Stephanie Richards posted a Terminix blog this week on stinging ants and their public health significance.  She discussed some examples of ant species that pose significant public health risk due to their stinging ability, which include fire ants, harvester ants, pavement ants, and Asian needle ants.  Dr. Richards also described their geographical source and distribution, how they inflict harm through their stings and the related adverse effects on humans.
