LT Commander Kathleen Ferguson (BSEH 2007) of Atlanta was honored last night as 1 of 3 Outstanding ECU Alumni at the ECU Purple and Gold Alumni Awards Dinner. LT Commander Ferguson graduated from our Environmental Health program in 2007. As a quality assurance specialist for the CDC, Ferguson approves and rejects critical pharmaceutical products, medical devices and vaccines for the Strategic National Stockpile and Department of Defense. She volunteered to be the on front lines in Sierra Leonne during the 2015 Ebola virus outbreak while also ensuring that the US stockpile of medicines and medical devices stood ready and available if needed. She praised Mr. William Hill for being instrumental in training her well and preparing her for her duties in Africa with the Ebola and Zika viruses. Congratulations!
