Dr. Charles Humphey and Dr. Lok Pokhrel received a seed grant totaling $14,000 from the ECU Natural Resources and the Environment Research Cluster. The project is titled, “Removal of 1,4-Dioxane from Water using Sustainable Next-Generation Nano-filters and Comparisons with Naturally Available Renewable Filter Matrices”.  The comparisons that will be conducted in this study in terms of water filtration will involve materials such as luffa, wood chips and wheat husks.
