ECU EHS Program Conducts EH Lab Tour for High School Counselors

The ECU Environmental Health Sciences (EHS) Program conducted today an environmental health (EH) lab tour for 30+ high school counselors visiting the College of Health and Human Performance (HHP) as part of the “What in the Health and Human Performance?” The counselors visited 4 of the EH laboratories in Carol Belk Building, as led by the following faculty, staff and students:

  • Occupational health / industrial hygiene lab – Dr. Jo Anne Balanay and Danielle Carter (DrPH student)
  • Water lab – Dr. Charles Humphrey and Dr. Guy Iverson
  • Vectors lab – Avian White and Heidi Knecht (DrPH student)
  • Nanotechnology lab – Dr. Lok Pokhrel and Rebecca Dean (MPH student)

The EH lab tour was coordinated by Mr. William Hill, BS Environmental Health Program Director. This event was a great opportunity for the EHS program to reach high school students as potential students in the program and be future environmental health specialists.
