Dr. Paul Knechtges (ECU Adjunct Professor) gave a presentation titled “Risk Communication and Environmental Health” on November 14th for the Directorate for Public Health, Naval Medical Center, Camp Lejeune, NC. His presentation was based on the risk communication chapter from the APHA book titled “Environmental Public Health: The Practitioner’s Guide”, in which Dr. Knechtges was the main book editor. The attendees were active duty medical personnel and environmental health professionals from local county health departments. Several of the attendees are ECU alumni, including Lieutenant Eric Green (MS Environmental Health alum), Head of the Preventive Medicine Department at the Naval Medical Center. LT Green and Dr. Knechtges, a retired Navy Commander, have remained in touch over the years.
