All I’ve heard for the last 6 months is COVID19, wearing a mask, social distancing, and handwashing from the politicians and public health professionals. I was told that you were an Environmental Health major in college… so what do you say?

I say to all public health/environmental health students and professionals… GIT BUSY! You’ve had courses, seminars, workshops, tabletop exercises, webinars and meetings preparing for public health emergencies… NOW IT’S TIME TO PUT ALL THAT INFORMATION TO WORK! Education is the key! Start in your own home. Educate friends and family. Rely on the science, be smart! You chose the field of environmental health… you’ve been educated and trained. This is your internship, your on-the-job-training! Early in my environmental health career, I was told something that has guided me to this day: it was…. ”We either gonna protect the public health or we ain’t!  You know the importance of wearing masks, social distancing, handwashing and education.
