World Environmental Health Day (WEHD) is virtually being celebrated at East Carolina University for the 5th year on September 26, 2020 by the ECU Environmental Health Sciences (EHS) Program, along with the International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) and the rest of the world. The theme for this year is “Environmental Health, a Key Public Health Intervention in Disease Pandemic Prevention”. A poster showing selfie photos of hand washing and mask wearing (and more) from ECU students is posted on the ECU EH blog and social media, as a reminder of important measures to slow down the spread of COVID-19. Environmental health student practicum posters were also shared on media platforms. This WEHD event aims to promote and increase the awareness on the field of environmental health among ECU students, faculty and staff.
