ECU EHS faculty, Ms. Avian White, gave a research presentation today titled “Horse Owner Practices and Equine and Human Arboviral Encephalitis in North Carolina” during the Southeast Regional Research Symposium (SERRS) held from March 21 – 23, 2022 in Chapel Hill, NC. Ms. White joined other presenters from U.S. southeastern universities, such as UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State University, University Kentucky, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Virginia Tech, Auburn, University of South Florida and University of Georgia.
The SERRS is a collaboration between the NIOSH Educational and Research Centers (ERCs) and Agricultural Centers in Kentucky, Florida, North Carolina and Alabama. Its purpose is to bring emerging researchers from across the region together to share results, spark ideas and encourage collaboration. SERRS is organized by the Southeastern States Occupational Health Network (SouthON), comprised of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
