Summer Warner, a Master of Public Health (MPH) and Environmental Health (EH) Foundations Certificate student, presented this week an innovation project titled, “NoPest-Ag5”, during the ECU Office of Licensing and Commercialization’s final training presentation of the Summer 2022 Innovation Ambassadors. The project is about the NoPest-Ag5, which is a non-toxic, non-ecopersistent, honeybee-safe nanotechnology-based pesticide that can be used to combat Varroa mite infestations and eradicate mites without harming bee colonies.
NoPest-Ag5 was invented by Dr. Lok Pokhrel, an ECU Department of Public Health Assistant Professor. Dr. Stephanie Richards (ECU Environmental Health Professor) served as the technical advisor for this project. The NoPest-Ag5 project was one of the two selected out of 180 ECU projects that the Office of Licensing and Commercialization has been assisting with for potential commercialization. Great work!
