May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month and is also the start of tick season in various parts of the Northern hemisphere. Millions of workers who spend a lot of their time outdoors in areas that are known to have infected ticks are have high risks of occupational exposure to Lyme disease. Workers who are at risk include those working in construction, forestry, landscaping, land surveying, farming, railroad work, oil field work, park or wildlife management, and utility line work.
