Dr. Charles Humphrey, along with several students attended the Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI) Annual Conference in Raleigh, NC from March 15-16, 2017. Dr. Humphrey delivered an oral presentation entitled “Implementation and Monitoring of Stormwater Control Measures in the Lower White Oak River Watershed, North Carolina”, and a poster presentation entitled “Biochemistry of Floodwaters from the Tar River Associated with Hurricane Matthew.” Several MS Environmental Health students also presented posters as follows:
- Christa Sanderford – “Fecal Indicator Bacteria Concentrations in Piedmont Streams Draining Watersheds with Varying Densities of Onsite Wastewater Systems”
- Nicole Lyons – “Evaluation of Trends in Enterococci and E. coli Concentrations in the Lower White Oak River Watershed in Coastal North Carolina”
- Jamil Blackmon – “Evaluation of the Environmental Health Risks Associated with Benzene Contamination of Water and Air near Town Creek, Greenville, NC”
Christa Sanderford (MSEH student) won honorable mention for her poster.
