MS Environmental Health Students Present at NC MarCo Symposium

MS Environmental Health students, Christa Sanderford and Nicole Lyons, presented their research posters yesterday, March 31, 2017 at the NC MarCo Consortium Graduate Student Symposium at the Duke University Marine Lab Campus in Beaufort, NC.  Their posters are as follows:

  • Christa Sanderford – “Fecal Indicator Bacteria Concentrations in Piedmont Streams Draining Watersheds with Varying Densities of Onsite Wastewater Systems”
  • Nicole Lyons – “Evaluation of Trends in Enterococci and E. coli Concentrations in the Lower White Oak River Watershed in Coastal North Carolina”

This consortium focused on Marine and Coastal (MarCo) science in North Carolina was re-established by an inter-institutional group, with the goal of providing a platform for faculty and students to connect and collaborate. Consortium members include East Carolina University, UNC Coastal Studies Institute, Duke University, Elizabeth City State University, NC State University, UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Institute of Marine Sciences and UNC Wilmington.
