Dr. Jo Anne Balanay gave a presentation titled “Assessment of Occupational Exposure to Heat Stress and Solar Ultraviolet Radiation among Groundskeepers in an Eastern North Carolina University Setting” during the 2018 Annual Joint Safety and Environmental Professional Development Symposium (PDS) held from April 23-26, 2018.   Her presentation covered a research study that was recently published in the February 2018 issue of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene (JOEH), with co-authors Nicole Beck (BSEH and MSEH alumna) and Terry Johnson (UCLA).

The PDS is a professional development opportunity for Department of Defense uniformed and civilian professionals to share innovative ideas, new trends, and new information in areas of safety and occupational health, environmental protection, and radiation health. The PDS is hosted in an online venue and is provided at no cost to attendees in different parts of the world.
