Dr. Stephanie Richards was recently interviewed for an NPR article and recording about her mosquito work post-Hurricane Florence. In the interview, Dr. Richards explained the increase in floodwater mosquitoes in Eastern North Carolina after the hurricane. She also shared the work that she and her students did across Columbus County, NC wherein they set mosquito traps to identify the most prevalent mosquito species and collect information to help the Health Department apply for FEMA assistance for mosquito spraying.
