Ms. Avian White, EH Research Personnel, served as a training facilitator at the NACCHO (National Association of County and City Health Officials) Vector Control Workshop in January 8-9, 2019 in Charleston, SC. She served in this capacity based on her previous work as a master trainer for the American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA). The goal of the training event is to increase the capacity of local vector control programs in areas affected by hurricanes to better respond to the increased threat of vector-borne diseases following natural disasters. The workshop aimed to provide hands-on training, instruction, and practical capacity-building activities targeted to vector control programs in hurricane-affected regions.
