MS Environmental Health Student Presents at 2020 HurriCon

MS Environmental Health (MSEH) student, Melinda Fields, presented her research poster at the 2020 HurriCon: Science at the Intersection of Hurricanes and the Populated Coast held from February 27-28, 2020 at the ECU Main Campus Student Center, Greenville, NC. The poster title was “Retrospective Assessment of Preparedness for Mosquito Control Post-Hurricane Florence in North Carolina”. The information in Melinda’s poster was from her research project for her MSEH professional paper, with Dr. Stephanie Richards serving as her research adviser. Other co-authors in the poster include Dr. Jo Anne Balanay (ECU), Dr. Greg Kearney (ECU) and Dr. Brian Byrd (Western Carolina University).

2020 Hurricon was organized by the ECU Center for Natural Hazards Research to have researchers and stakeholders engage in dialog about issues related to the conference theme. Various sessions by experts around the country were held for 2 days. A poster session was held in the morning of February 28.
