This editorial article serves as an introduction to launch and promote the Special Collection with the same title, “Insights into Diversity in the Environmental Health Science Workforce” in the Environmental Health Insights. This article describes the diversity in the field of Environmental Health Science (EHS) in terms of environmental exposures, communities affected and the EHS workforce serving these communities. The Special Collection that this article launches aims to bring together research on disparities in communities at risk of environmental exposures (e.g., environmental justice), diversity in the EHS workforce, the need for diversity in EHS research/researchers and EHS educators/students, and other related topics.
