World Environmental Health Day (WEHD) is virtually being celebrated at East Carolina University for the 7th year on September 26, 2022 by the ECU Environmental Health Sciences (EHS) Program, along with the International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) and the rest of the world. The theme for this year is “Strengthening Environmental Health Systems for the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals”.
Mosquito identification stations were set up at the lobby of ECU Carol Belk building for students to view and identify the species of some mosquito specimens. A container of mosquito larvae was also displayed for viewing.
A poster showing selfie photos of recycling, litter clean up, insect repellent use and more from ECU students is posted on the ECU EH blog and social media, as a way of showing what environmental health means to them.
In addition, different types of Environmental Health (EH) posters are featured this week. Below are research posters of EH faculty and students, internship poster, class posters of students as course projects, and infographic posters from governmental agencies and professional organizations.
