MS Environmental Health student, William Murray, was selected as a 2024 Association of Environmental Health Academic Programs (AEHAP) Student Research Competition (SRC) 1st Place Graduate Student winner for his individual research project. William’s research involved a novel wind tunnel for testing the efficacy of formulated insecticide products, with Dr. Stephanie Richards serving as his faculty preceptor. AEHAP sponsors this national Student Research Competition (SRC) to highlight important environmental health research being conducted by students enrolled in National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council (EHAC) accredited environmental health degree programs.
Among the eligible SRC submissions for the 2024 competition, Will was one of the 4 selected SRC winners. He will present the results of his research at 2 events: 1) virtual AEHAP Student Symposium to be held on April 17, 2024, and 2) the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) Annual Educational Conference in Pittsburgh, PA on July 15 – 18, 2024. As a winner, he will receive a $750 award and a $1,750 travel and stay allowance (including hotel accommodation, transportation, conference registration, and meals) to attend the conference. William will give oral and/or poster presentations at the conferences titled, “Development of Novel Compact Wind Tunnel for Testing Insecticide Formulated Products Against Mosquitoes”. This is the 9th year that a graduate student from our MS Environmental Health (MSEH) Program won this award. Congratulations, Will!
