Sandra Bullock recounts how sexist the Hollywood industry was when she auditioned earlier in her career for past movies. She remembers the common questions such as the “hotness” of her character in a movie. Bahr writes, “…for actresses in Hollywood, where sexist presumptions are ingrained in the culture.” Over the years Bullock feels that there has been improvement, this is evident from her role in her newest move “Our Brand is Crisis.” The reason cited is that gender was a non-factor as it was not the focus of the movie. Bullock said, “”Hopefully, while I’m still alive, we get to see women just treated better. My question is, wage equality, yes, that should be obvious. But the bigger picture to me is why are we thought of as less than in general.”
