Today text messaging and other forms of instant messaging on smart phones has led to young teenagers sending sexual pictures to each other. These nude pictures, also known as “sexting” is accelerating young teenagers lives into sexual exploration. Not only is this dangerous in the sense that it could lead young teenagers into unsafe sexual interaction at an earlier age, but it also teeters on a fine legal line between sexual harassment and self expression.
The author of this post claims that we need to update children’s sexual education and inform them on the potential dangers of exposing yourself with sexting. I agree that sexual education needs to be updated in the United States, especially in north Carolina where we have a decently conservative sex education program.
