The Judge, Aaron Persky, who sentenced Brock Turner to 6 months in jail for his horrendous crime has not been reelected.The author of the article bought up two good questions:
Is it prudent to punish a judge for being lenient? and do we want judges to feel like they have to hand out harsher sentences (not just for cases like Brock Turner) to be reelected?
