Some Seattle students spoke out on how it was like to come out. This article explains how a girl named Abby Akari Alishio, was terrified to come out in high-school. She explained how there was a trans student at her school, that she felt were being silently bullied by other peers. Now Alishio is a University student, and is aware on how this generation is very welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community. In the past, people were brought down, bullied, and terrified to speak out. Now, more people are comfortable and proud to be coming out. It’s awesome how our communities are coming together more to celebrate the LGBTQ family, such as having peaceful protests to street celebrations. This gives hope to the younger generation that one day people will feel safe in being able to come out without feeling ashamed, or questioned by others.
