“Trafficking and women’s human rights in a globalised world: An interview by Pamela Shifman”
In revising my paper for class I came across this really interesting short interview that features four women who are fighting international trafficking in women. These women represent India, Nigeria, Italy, the Philippines and Belgium, giving a truly international perspective to the issue. You have to sign in to JStor through ECU in order to access it, which I know is a pain, but I thought I’d pass it along anyways in case anyone’s interested. Of particular interest to me were the connections between globalization/capitalism and sex trafficking, the controversy of what constitutes “choice” and the issue of male demand, namely in terms of power and control.
