At the time this article was written in 2012 there were exactly zero major league female coaches. As of now there are only two female assistant coaches, one in the NBA and the other in the NFL. According to this article there are about 1000 coaching positions in major league sports and basically all of these positions are employed by men. But, this is also an problem for college level female coaches, although more likely to be hired, are still far behind in ever becoming head coaches. Only three females have ever coached on the college level and all were assistant coaches in college basketball. Like the article stated, regardless of talent or ability it would be nearly impossible for a female to actual achieve becoming a coach in the major leagues.
