This article expounds on research addressing the lack of desire in women for higher up positions. McGregor writes that “women were less likely than their male peers to desire the highest corporate leadership jobs.” McGregor does not feel that the family life is the reason, rather McGregor points to the high level of pressure of the job itself as a reason for not wanting the high caliber positions. Another interesting conclusion is that moms were more likely to say they wanted the top position in comparison to women who don’t have children.
