“T” Visa is a creation from The Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 (TVPAP), and it allows traffic victims to help federal authorities prosecution sex traffickers, and allow the victims to remain in the US. Two thousand sex traffic victims and their families were allowed to remain in this country by The US Department of Homeland Security, between 2001 and 2008 (Santana 2009:207).
