According to an article by Emily Crockett, there is a staggering low small amount of women in CEO positions at fortune 500 companies. The article stated that as of 2014 only 4% of the CEO positions at fortune 500 companies belonged to women. These women were also reported to be paid far less than their male counterparts. The article stated that these female CEOs were being paid 79 cents for every dollar that was paid to male CEOs.
