As I was scrolling through Facebook, I noticed an article about one of my high school teachers. Angie Scioli, awarded teacher of the year, took to social media to respond to a letter writer who claims that teachers get paid enough. In the letter, the author stated that teachers only work 180 days a year, are off for holidays, breaks, and vacations, and receive benefits along with a pension and that along with their salary was enough. Mrs. Scioli’s responded by giving the writer an inner look at her schedule as a teacher, saying that “she did 261 days of work in 196 days. She also mentions how her “benefits” actually work, stating that they are not free.
I find it amazing how people still believe that teachers “have it good” and get paid “enough.” what do you guys think?
